Come out and show your support for our local crafters, and yes, I’ll be there selling the goodies again this year!

This year marks the five year anniversary of the Baar Bazaar!
May I just say…Baar Bazaar at The Majestic Theatre was freakin’ awesome! I saw soooo many of my favorite vendors and lots of new crafters with really innovative products. Plus, there was TONS of good stuff for guys!
Allow me to take you on a photo tour of the fantastic craftiness:
Deann of by deets was selling these nifty radio tube critters.

Here’s some photos from my booth, Pretty Little Things:

This couple LOVED Sara’s 17 year old painter friend’s work. She brought his art to see if they would sell, and they turned out to be a HUGE hit! EVERY painting sold! We were definitely ecstatic for this young artist starting out.

This is John, (gotta love Johns as my fiance is also a John…) he bought the rest of the painting collection! Plus, he was a drummer in one of the bands that played at the Bazaar and he was really sweet too.
And here’s Sara and I, she came along and helped me out with the show. I love this lady!

To everyone that came out, thanks so much! We had a great time, and to everyone else, come to the next event! There’s something for everyone. oxoxox

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection… BUT one thing about it that I don’t like is the t-shirts that come with it. The large prints of the chicks and dog are not so cute. I also don’t like how they put accessories (like the amazing leopard print heart belt) in the styling that you can’t buy from them! Anyways, this collection does have some amazing pieces that you can add to your rocker gal collection! I love the cardigans, skirts and the leopard print dress. Super cute! xoxo
Majestic Theatre — IN
DECEMBER!!!
It’s growing, bigger and better than ever. The annual Holiday Baar Bazaar has expanded so quickly and impressively that it had to be moved into the Majestic Theatre (from the bar at the Garden Bowl). More shopping, more music (courtesy of Rogue Satellites, Tone & Niche and APT 4), more fun.
The Holiday Baar Bazaar features unique, locally made items by Detroit- and Michigan-based businesses! Some of the vendors include: Reware Vintage, Courtney Fischer Jewelry, Pretty Little Things, Lish Magic, Blackenedruby Jewelry, Universal Threads, Knifey Moloko, Phil Childers, Glass Action!, Quench Essentials, (sub)UrbanFringe, TalkingSquid, PLUSH by Joey, Lampes Lumps, 2Dimensions Portrait Productions, Detroit Derby Girls, Brash Design, Comfortably Lovely, Pretty Little Things, WoollyMammothDesign, Vibrate Peace Detroit, The Black Water Gallery and many more.
As before, admission is free and all ages are welcome. The Majestic is at 4140 Woodward Avenue, Detroit.
I visited my
friend Tiffany in Windsor this past weekend and we had an impromptu photo shoot… I had a blast hanging with several ladies, getting dolled up and taking pictures on a Saturday night. What more could a girl ask for!? Here are some of the images from the evening.
I was lucky to be a part of this festival two years in a row. Nearing 30 years, the Dally in the Alley is aging like fine wine. This festival has expanded to feature a horde of vendors, bands, quality food dishes ranging from lasagna to hummus, an art gallery, a Nintendo games truck, a kid’s zone, and a 30-minute chair massage, amongst other attractions.
Starting in 1977, Dally In The Alley,a street festival celebrating art, music, and all that is Detroit is one of those essential local things to experience.
Held on the first Saturday of the fall semester of Wayne State, college kids, locals, and suburbanites, gather along the streets of Cass Corridor to listen to local bands, taste fare from local restaurants, delve into a little, or a lot of debauchery.
Festival goers have the opportunity to peruse street after street of vendors selling anything from vintage dresses to records to African drums. In addition, the festival books some of Detroit’s best local musicians, anything from folk to hip-hop to indie rock.
Don’t be shocked that while floating through the area, beer in hand, you’ll met some local folks inviting you to their porch for a drink, this is the sort of random act, that makes Dally so unique and gives that wonderful sense of community to Detroit, that many think is lacking.
